ROBERT DIKEN

I’m a self-taught American artist and the owner of Basecamp Studio & Gallery in Metuchen, NJ where I create using different materials. My early dream of being a landscape architect changed due to another job. I started drawing to handle practical landscape planning in my own garden. Nature gives me lots of chances to capture its colors, textures, and forms in my unique way. I enjoy experimenting with different subjects and materials. Most of my work happens when I focus on the process instead of the final product. Solving problems along the way is challenging but very rewarding. In the end, I aim to create art that surprises. I’m curious about new ways to express myself, influenced by abstraction and graffiti. I try to stay open to new ideas without overthinking that might block my inspiration.

Ongoing Exhibition - closes May 29

Gallery open on Weds 5-8pm and Sun 1-4pm
